John was very helpful and gave me the honest assessment I needed. He identified key weaknesses in my coding-interview process that may be causing me to miss offers, and showed me how those habits prevent me from presenting my skills as effectively as I could.
The feedback was direct, specific, and actionable. It was not great for my ego, but it was very good for my growth. I left the session with a much clearer understanding of what I need to improve and would definitely recommend him to candidates looking for an honest evaluation.

He was a nice guy, had an accent, and he did understand my questions. He wants me to lead the design but he kept asking questions. I felt like it was a way to expire time. Towards the end he didn't understand the concept of microservices, and I don't think I learned anything except "you should be at much higher level because you're applying for senior position".

Thank you for your message. You booked the wrong interview you were supposed to book the system design interview. Still went ahead with the booming. As mentioned in the feedback, your design lacked details. The things you were sharing were good for sde2 but not for sr engineer. You needed to provide details about why you were making the decision, what problems your design could have, how you will mitigate it, trade-offs. All these points were missing; hence I needed to interrupt and ask questions as those data points were missing. Wish you all the best.
